DIY Shoe Racks from 5 Pieces of Wood
Level: Beginner
Time: 20 minutes
Materials: Wood, paint, screws, drill
During our recent closet makeover I realized we needed some shoe storage that could hold lots of shoes but not take up too much space. I found a few pictures on Pinterest I really liked and tweaked the design a bit to fit our space. It only takes 5 pieces of wood and some screws, it's super easy!
Step 1: The wood!
You only need 5 pieces of wood for this! The sizing will depend on how big you want your shoe rack to be. For this one I used two pieces that were 37 inches long, one that was 39 inches long and two that were 8 inches long.

Step 2: Attach the sides
Next you'll screw the two small 8 inch pieces onto the ends of one of the 37 inch pieces.
Step 3: Attach the back
Screw the other 37 inch piece to the two sides.

Step 4: Attach the front bit!
Now you'll screw the 39 inch piece onto the front. I positioned it about 3 inches from the bottom.

And that's literally it! I used D-rings to hang them onto my walls, but any type of hanger will work with these. Or you could screw them right into the wall! These are super easy and SO nice to keep your shoes off the floor and at least somewhat organized.
Here's the finished product!
